Type: #5 Body. Stamped On Her Back It Says: Chatty Cathy 1960 Chatty Baby 1961 By Mattel INC US Pat.3017187 Other US & Foreign Pats. Pend pat'd in Canada 1962
Voice Box: Hexagon grill. Doll has been repaired to talk. She says all 18 phrases, with little to no background noise. She is a loud and clear and very good talker.
Eyes: Original Clear Beautiful Blue/green Glassine Sleep Eyes. She has her original sable lashes. Except on her right eye. When I bought the doll it said she had all her lashes but when she got here, what she had, was all her lashes on her left eye but the right eye had but a few layers and was missing a few layers too. What was done was someone put fake stick on lashes on her. I removed those stick on lashes and had to glue what she had left of her original lashes so they would not continue to fall out. I would say there are 4 layers of lashes on the original sable and that her right eye would be missing 2 layers of them. So they are not as thick. but I don't think you can really tell. Plus there is a small amount of white residue on the lashes from the stick on lashes that will not come off without me pulling too much on the lashes so I left it there and think it will turn brown over time. When looking at her really do not see any of this. Both of her lids have specks of paint missing Please see pictures. Her left eye also has a speck of white paint missing again please see pictures. All in all she has very nice eyes and they are rare and hard to fine. Most of these dolls have all their lashes missing but hers are 100% original to her. Hair: Has Not Been Cut. Her hair is very thick and there are a few plugs missing 2 to 3 could be more, I didn't check her whole head. She has nice long hair and bangs. Her hair has been washed and conditioned and has been curled. It does have some factory curl left. She will come to you with her hair freshly washed, conditioned and styled as in the picture above.
Face: All Original She has such a pretty face! She has nice brown Brows and Freckles. Her freckles are a bit lighter than her brows but this is normal on a lot of Chatty Cathy dolls. Her lips are all natural and very nice. No added color or make-up has been added to her face. She has such good color no makeup is needed. Just look how nice her lips are!
Arms: Both arms hold a Pose. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Legs: Both Legs Hold a Pose. Right are has a faint small pea size brown spot on back. Hard to see. No other noticeable nicks or stains.
Hands: Both Hands Have All their Fingers. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Feet: Both Feet Have All Their Toes. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Head: Soft Face Turns As It Should.
Body: All seams are closed and look good. Her body is in excellent shape. Her left shoulder has a knocked look which is normal on these dolls because that is where they almost always break. Her body is in excellent shape.
Over All Color: Arms and Legs are all the same color, a skin tone color. Body Is A Nice Peachy Color But Different From Arms and Legs. Head Is A Nice Tannish/Peachy Color.
Over All Condition: This doll is a very nice somewhat rare doll, an American Soft Face with Original Glassine eyes and stable lashes. Her eyes have not been changed. I took her head off and did a close inspection of her eyes, they are original to her. Please see pictures of the inside of her head page 2. Her face color is very nice. She is such a nice doll and it is very hard to find one of these in good shape. She is rare because of her eyes. Plus most are missing their lashes because of kids or just age pulling on the lashes. Please do not do this, if the eye will not close put your finger on the eye ball or eye lid to make it close or open, never grab the lashes. I replaced her body and when I did I gave her a very nice #5 good body. She has been cleaned inside and out she smells as sweet as a rose. She is a very nice somewhat rare doll that talks very good. Her hair is nice, thick and fluffy. .
Clothes/Shoes If Any: She is wearing a new remake of the original Chatty Cathy solid blue jumper with white shirt, slip, panties socks and shoes. Plus ribbons for her hair. She is ready for display.

Also please remember these dolls are made of plastic and rubber and after years of kids playing with these dolls and people keeping these dolls in storage they can pick up and give off lots of different smells, so please do not keep her boxed up to long. My dolls have been cleaned inside and out from head to toe. My dolls are VERY, VERY, clean and smell like dolls.
