"Rare Doll" Very Hard To Find Doll Very Rare Doll
Type: #2 Body. Stamped On Her Back It Says: Chatty Cathy 1960 Chatty Baby 1961 By Mattel INC US Pat.3017187 Other US & Foreign Pats. Pend pat'd in Canada 1962 Also this doll has an orangey/pink record in her body. She also has a double speaker. It's the first body of it's kind that I have ever found in repairing these doll. It is very unusual.
Voice Box: Hexagon grill. Doll has been repaired to talk. She says all 18 phrases, with little to no background noise. She is a loud and clear and very good talker. Very odd to have a #2 that speaks 18 phrases. She is a excellent talker. She is maybe the rarest doll I have ever found.
Eyes: Original Clear Beautiful Glassine Sleep Eyes. I am thinking they are green more than blue. Note:. With these dolls sometimes I can't tell if the eyes are green or blue. But I did have her standing next to another glassine eyed doll with more blue than green eyes and hers looked more green than blue. Very nice beautiful eyes! She has all her original sable lashes. Her left eye lid has a small nick in the paint Please see pictures. They open and close as they should. Also I have added some close-up pictures of her face on page #4 so you can see her in the morning light plus some have a green grass background so you can see her green eyes against the green grass.
Hair: Has Not Been Cut. Her hair is very thick and there are a few plugs missing back by her pull string. There could be more, I didn't check her whole head. She has nice long and bangs. Her hair has been washed and conditioned and has been curled. It does have a lot of factory curl left. She will come to you with her hair freshly washed, conditioned.
Face: All original except I put a sealer on her lips so she would not loose what color she has left. Plus I think someone that knows how to re-paint the lips needs to do them. She has such a pretty face! She has nice light brown Brows and Freckles. She has such good face color no graying. No other added color or make-up has been added to her face. Her face is not perfect but I do not think I have ever had a Chatty Cathy doll with a perfect face.
Arms: Both arms hold a Pose. No noticeable nicks or stains. They are the more white limbs
Legs: Both Legs Hold a Pose. No noticeable nicks or stains. They are the more white limbs.
Hands: Both Hands Have All their Fingers. No noticeable nicks or stains. More rare open right hand.
Feet: Both Feet Have All Their Toes. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Head: Soft Face, Turns As It Should.
Body: All seams are closed and look good. Her body is in excellent shape. Unusual!!! Please read below
Over All Color: Arms and Legs are all the same color, a skin tone color. Body Is A Nice Peachy Color But Different From Arms and Legs. Head Is A Nice Tannish/Peachy Color.
Over All Condition: This doll is a very, very nice rare doll an American Soft face brunette bob with green glassine eyes. Her eyes have not been changed. I taken her head off and did a close inspection they are original to her. Please see pictures of the inside of her head. Her face color is good and she has beautiful green eyes with sable lashes. This doll is one rare doll, not only is her hair eye combination rare but she also has the rarest body I have ever found in one of theses dolls. I bought her thinking she was a number 2 and she is, but when I went to open her I found 2 plastic speakers in her and a 1962 orangey/pink record. She had never been opened so I know all her insides were un-touched. It's almost like she is a prototype doll, like Mattel was trying something different in the dolls and made her. Then changed their minds and made what is now call the #5 doll. You can see two plastic speakers in her body one is a cross grill and the other is round plastic, like is in the number 5's, you can't see the cross grill unless you look at her form the front. (See Pictures) She was made later because of that orangey pink record. In fact I will be using her body on my body page as a rare find in a few weeks. There might be more like her out there but I bet it will be a long time before I ever find another one like her. She is 100% original Mattel made doll. I bought her because of her eyes because I was doing a Chatty Cathy eye page so I needed a lot of dolls with different eyes. After inspecting her eyes to make sure they were for real I gave her a new body and limbs. It wasn't until I had some time that I took her body apart to fix her and maybe give that body a blonde bob head when I found her body to be so unusual. I then immediately stopped the sale on her and gave her back what she originally came with. Her limbs are the more white limbs but they are original to her. Who ever buys this doll is getting a real rare doll and if she doesn't sell I will keep this doll for sure. She has been cleaned inside and out she smells as sweet as a rose. She is a very nice rare, rare doll that talks very good. Her hair is nice, thick and fluffy. .
Clothes/Shoes If Any: She is wearing a beautiful lime green dress to go with her eyes, panties and pink shoes. Ribbon for her hair. She is ready for display.

My dolls have been cleaned inside and out from head to toe. My dolls are VERY, VERY, clean and smell like dolls.
