(A Very Rare Doll )
Type: #5 Body. Stamped On Her Back It Says: Chatty Cathy 1960 Chatty Baby 1961 By Mattel INC US Pat.3017187 Other US & Foreign Pats. Pend pat'd in Canada 1962
Voice Box: Hexagon grill. Doll has been repaired to talk. She says all 11 FRENCH phrases, with no background noise. She is loud and clear a very, very good talker. One of the loudest dolls I have ever had. She has the white FRENCH record inside her.
Eyes: Clear Beautiful Blue/Green Pinwheel Sleep Eyes. Lashes are Straightand full. They open and close as they should. She has nice even eyes.
Hair: Has Not Been Cut Her hair is nice and thick and there could be a few missing plugs 2 to 3, I didn't check her whole head. She has nice long bangs. Her hair is still curly and she has 2 tone hair color, white steaks mixed with blonde. Her hair has been washed and conditioned and has not been curled. It does have a lot of factory curl left. She will come to you with her hair freshly washed, conditioned.
Face: All Original She has such a pretty face! Her face still has a lot of the pink left on the cheeks. She has nice brown Brows and Freckles, her lips are a soft pink and her teeth a pearly white. No added color or make-up has been added to her face. She has such good color no makeup is needed.
Arms: Both arms hold a Pose. No other noticeable nicks or stains.
Legs: Both Legs Hold a Pose. The back of her right leg at the very top has what looks like a dimple and I am sure it was made that way. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Hands: Both Hands Have All their Fingers. No noticeable nicks or stains.
Feet:Both Feet Have All Their Toes. No noticeable nicks or stains
Head: Soft Face, Turns As It Should.
Body: All seams are closed and look good. Left shoulder seam has a notched look. Her body is in excellent shape.
Over All Color: Arms and Legs are all the same color, the very nice rich canadian pink. Body Is A Nice Peachy Color But Different From Arms and Legs. Head Is A Nice Tannish/Peachy Color.
Over All Condition: This is a French Canadian Chatty Cathy doll with Blue/green Pinwheel eyes. She is a very nice rare doll close to perfect. Or as perfect as you are going to get for a 50 year old doll. There is nothing wrong with this doll except for the notched look on her left shoulder seam but other than that she is almost perfect. Her limbs are so pink they almost match her body color. Even her hair is still curly and she has 2 tone hair color, white steaks mixed with blonde. The catalog page was taken from a 1962 or 3 maybe 4 Canadian Eaton Catalog. The page shows how the Chatty Cathy doll was sold as a French doll right along with the English speaking dolls. She is called "French Canadian Chatty Cathy Doll" where the other doll on the page, the english speaking doll would be just called a "Canadian Chatty Cathy doll". Chatty Baby is also on the page and is also sold as English or French. For Many years people thought this doll was not made. So I research it and after about 5 years of looking for one, I finely got lucky and bought one at an Auction house. She turned out to be FRENCH so I then bought another one and opened her up just to make sure I was right, that the French doll was made and that the record was the same, it was. Then a good friend sent me the catalog page that proved the doll was made and sold in Canada (Click Here) Scroll down the page to see the catalog page. These dolls sell for 1200 to 2000 depending on the shape they are in and I seen one go for 2400. She is close to perfect! I am asking $1000.00 for her because I do have another one I am keeping for myself. This is a good price for this doll and you will have trouble finding another one that is as nice as she is. Not to mention she is the best talker I have ever had she is very loud and clear!.. She will sell, so if you are interested please do not wait, she will be gone soon. Plus I will not be buying another one of these French dolls, my research on the French doll is done and the other one I have I am keeping. So I will not have another one for sale for many years.
Clothes/Shoes If Any: She is wearing a remake of the Original Chatty Cathy Canadian Robin Egg Blue dress. The dress comes with a apron panties, socks and shoes. All clothes are remakes of the original Chatty Cathy clothes. She also comes with ribbon for her hair. She's ready to display.
Age Of Doll: "For Newbies" Please remember this is a very old doll and it will have the wear and tear of any 50 year old doll. The doll is not new and is not being sold as a new doll. She may have light staining or discoloring on her body and limbs. Anything that I notice will be in her description. But if it is a small line like a 1/4 inch pencil or pen mark I will not mention it. These dolls are so old and all of them have been played with by little kids. So all of them will have some little thing wrong with them. Anything that is noticeable is always mentioned in her description. Please look close at all pictures. I am also going to tell you here (below) what to look for. You can use this list when you are buying from me or on eBay or anywhere you buy a doll. But Also remember that not everything will show up in a picture.

Also please remember these dolls are made of plastic and rubber and after years of kids playing with these dolls and people keeping these dolls in storage they can pick up and give off lots of different smells, so please do not keep her boxed up to long. My dolls have been cleaned inside and out from head to toe. My dolls are VERY, VERY, clean and smell like dolls.
